How it works
Net worth is Total assets − Total liabilities. Assets include cash, investments, property and other valuables; liabilities include mortgages, loans and other debts.
Example
Assets of 315,000 minus liabilities of 188,000 gives a net worth of 127,000.
Assumptions & limitations
Property is valued at what you enter — use a recent market estimate for accuracy. This does not include illiquid assets you may not want counted, like a primary vehicle, unless you choose to add them under 'other assets'.
Frequently asked questions
Should I include my home?
Most people do, using current estimated market value, but it's your choice whether to include it.
Is net worth the same as income?
No — net worth is a snapshot of what you own minus what you owe, unrelated to how much you earn.
